1950s Middle East

It's been a while since I've done any pixel art. This one is based on Middle-Eastern tradition and architecture. It's complete with minaret-like structures, shisha-smoker, falconeer, and intrusive stray cats.

Russian / Mayan Building– Process and Results

Architecture mixing– Russian and Mayan

By mixing pre-existing cultures, something can be reached which is neither boring nor too far-fetched. It's easy to draw something that's already been done, and it's also easy to get off-track and create things that are so unique that nobody understands them. I picked up this strategy in episode 79 of Design Cinema by Feng Zhu, free on youtube. I plan on getting better at it.

Russian elements: Crosses, domes, red bricks (Red Square), arches, barren earth, winter

Mayan elements: Building shape, staircase, ladder, vine growth, warm climate
