Pixel Art: Don't Forget Steve

I haven't been very active in a while, but I have been working on both pixel art and graphic art.

This piece, entitled Don't Forget Steve features some elements I've never tried in other pieces before. The house, shed, car, air balloon basket, and even stairs are drawn at a 1/2 angle rather than straight-on. This allows me to establish more about the objects and make things a little more interesting. It's also much more of an action scene than usual, compared to the relatively deserted wide shots of environments that I do. Looking at the piece, you'll see I did some subtle brickwork on the house and some moss growth at the foot of both the house and the shed. I'm thinking about doing another piece which illustrates part of their journey.

Character Design: Blue Ninja

This is my most complex piece of character work so far. I paid more attention to the male form this time for a less awkward appearance. I made a cross-hatched texture and used it for part of his suit, that worked pretty well. My next goal is to master how to draw faces properly. Not that there's anything wrong with gas masks, but it may be time for a development. Sketched out by hand, drawn on Photoshop.
