Each rooftop was modeled after or inspired by buildings photographed on a recent trip to London. The greenish blue is used here to imitate tarnished brass, and the brown to imitate untarnished brass. I've never focused this much on specific materials, or clouds for that matter.
The viewers perspective, being level with the clouds, is supposed to create a since of liberation.
